Hosted software solutions and SSL?
SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) – How will the changes to how Google Chrome handles insecure websites affect those using hosted or web-based software solutions? This was something we mentioned during Thursday Thoughts Episode 15 – once we mentioned the fact that Google Chrome was changing how they handle insecure sites by actively warning users that their connection is insecure, we received numerous emails and phone calls from worried users that these changes may affect how they will be able to use their tools of choice.
In theory this is all about making the web as a whole safer for everyone – but there may be consequences for those using hosted solutions – especially those not using SSL certificates on their websites – it won’t be long before other browsers follow the lead of Google Chrome on this one! – Mike
We took it upon ourselves to create a tutorial explaining the what, the why and the benefits of Google Chrome taking this major step-forward as well as the action that most users will need to take.
