Hunting technical publications!

Just because it’s a bank holiday does not mean we stop talking Technical Publications! Yes even on days off Mike manages to find a technical publications angle and this weekend was no different!

The bank holiday weekend in the UK delivered some scorching weather and after breaking out the suntan lotion Mike had an opportunity to head to one of the UK’s annual military events – “The Overlord Show“. This event provides an opportunity for Mike to do two things! One is to look at some of the ‘vintage‘ vehicles that he used to operate as a young soldier, but also a rummage around the stalls to see if there are any technical publication nuggets that can be picked up (yes he really does do it!).

Join Mike on this short vLog from the Overlord Show and check out some of the vintage vehicles on show as well as some of the old manuals he spotted hidden in the treasure chests of the sellers at the event.

Seeing some of the vehicles here being labelled vintage makes me feel old as I used to operate and maintain some of these models on show

Mike Ingledew

A trained aircraft engineer (rotorcraft), I entered in to the field of technical information writing S1000D data modules on a major European military platform.

After a series of high profile project roles and the privilege of supporting clients worldwide, I ended my 'employed' career at a subsidiary of Boeing Aircraft after I decided to leave and focus on TDW full-time.

From my time supporting clients worldwide, I could see that there was a market need for an independent organisation that could be a trusted advisory source for those needing to implement successful technical information strategies.

I am passionate about the art of technical communications and the process, software and skills needed in our market.
