This weeks news seemed to have a bit of a cyber security theme, with the US MilCloud announcing that by 2019 they plan to store classified data ‘in the cloud’, Eurocontrol calling in Thales to help with digitalisation and security. New projects for Bomabrdier makes our top news items as well as some good news for Denel Aerospace who plan to push ahead with a new project.

Looking to the future of technical information, Porsche seems to be following others and making augmented reality available to maintainers as have Rolls-Royce with their recent demonstration of VR capability in Germany.

In the week where Mike attended the Overlord Show on his day off, yet managed to find time to try and spot some technical information nuggets, we produced a vLog of his day – watch now. O’Neil and Associates renew their support for Tech Data World and SDL confirm that they will be a sponsor of this years TDW-Live event.

The big news this week was the announcement of the all new Technical Communication in Aerospace, Defence and Space course from TDW – a full new website has been created for this long overdue and much needed course for our domains! A trained aircraft engineer (rotorcraft), I entered in to the field of technical information writing S1000D data modules on a major European military platform.

After a series of high profile project roles and the privilege of supporting clients worldwide, I ended my 'employed' career at a subsidiary of Boeing Aircraft after I decided to leave and focus on TDW full-time.
