TDW-Live#9 – During November this 2019 TDW hosted the annual TDW-Live event, gathering together with like-minded professionals from the field of aerospace, defence and space product support.

The event which is hosted over three days and kicking off with a workshop day focuses on practical applications of modern technical information production and deployment methodologies.

The 2019 event attracted many new and diverse delegates, presenters and exhibitors, all of whom engaged with and generated deep and engaging debate around technical information, current standards and technological opportunity as well as how to convert existing content to exploit new opportunities.

Making an appearance this year was the adoption of XML and why XML is a must for new technical information projects. How augmented reality and wider IoT is affecting the technical publication and how the technical publication role and function is and will continue to change.

In this short video, we round-up some of the key highlights from this years event looking at presentations and introducing those that sponsored the event.

Those wishing to view and access the presentations and did not participate in the conference should contact us at Tech Data World for information on how you may access the recordings.

The 10th-anniversary event of TDW-Live will be hosted again in Congresbury in the UK, the dates agreed, and the contract signed. Several vendors are already backing the 2020 event, and the theme has already been outlined, building on the topics covered during TDW-Live#9 – enabling our delegates to move forward with their technical information and product support goals.

At TDW, we would like to thank all of those who supported and participated in the event, making this year’s event the most engaging and dynamic three days so far. Until 2020!

Mike Ingledew

A trained aircraft engineer (rotorcraft), I entered in to the field of technical information writing S1000D data modules on a major European military platform.

After a series of high profile project roles and the privilege of supporting clients worldwide, I ended my 'employed' career at a subsidiary of Boeing Aircraft after I decided to leave and focus on TDW full-time.

From my time supporting clients worldwide, I could see that there was a market need for an independent organisation that could be a trusted advisory source for those needing to implement successful technical information strategies.

I am passionate about the art of technical communications and the process, software and skills needed in our market.
